microminiatures are very very tiny sculptures. they can fit inside the eye of a sewing needle or inside of a hollowed human hair. microminiature sculptures are so delicate that the sculptors must work inbetween heart beats so as not to destroy the work.

masters of microminiatures are primarily Russian. What is it about Russia that can create people like this? Check out the tiny masterpieces of Hagop Sandaldjian, Nikolai Syradisty, Andrew Rykovanov, and Edward Kazarian.

If you like these and are ever in Los Angeles, visit The Museum of Jurassic Technology to see real life microminiatures.

i acquired a crude stereo-scopic microscope, fashioned a few custom sculpting tools from shave down sewing needles and diamond dust, and made a few rough attempts at creating microminiature sculptures...but i have decided to put off this pursuit until i'm old(er).
